...Like I said, it STARTED as a good morning. Huxley had been puking and wouldn't eat Saturday night and we were kind of worried about him, but we went to go meet with Kella and hoped he'd feel better by the time we got back. We came home to more puke and a sick little kitty. So we packed him off to the vet and the vet packed us off to the veterinary hospital in Red Bank, NJ. Huxley was really dehydrated so they put him on IV fluids, took a bunch of blood tests, and then took x-rays of his tummy to see if anything had gotten stuck in there (rubber bands anyone?). The x-rays came back uncertain, and we were waiting for kidney tests, pancreas tests, & blood tests, and the worst part was...we had to LEAVE him at the hospital! It was soooooo sad. So I kept in touch with the vet the whole day Monday, and he hadn't puked any more, and they took more x-rays (still inconclusive), but they got him to eat a little bit. They held off on the ultrasound on his tummy to see if the food would stay down. (It did). But they wanted to keep him ANOTHER nite just to be sure he was OK. (really they wanted to see if he would poop).
Well, by Tuesday morning he FINALLY pooped and the vet said if he kept eating he could go home, so my dad was nice enough to meet me at the ferry and drive me to pick Huxley up. He ate like he was going to the electric chair, he did NOT like the medicine we forced down his throat, and he generally seemed happy to be home. We're going to have to keep an eye on him for a few days tho, so be sure it's still not something stuck in his guts. Everybody - keep your fingers crossed!!!
